Joseph Bulbulia is a professor in the School of Humanities at the University of Auckland, where he serves as the McClaurin Goodfellow Chair in Theological and Religious Studies.
Joseph’s research applies systematic methods from the natural and social sciences to test long-debated theories about the personal and social effects of spirituality and religion. Joseph is principal investigator of the Virtues Project, a study investigating the life-long effects of generosity, gratitude, and forgiveness in people’s lives. This Virtues Project is part of a The New Zealand Attitudes and Values Study, on-going longitudinal investigation of attitudes and values in a nationally diverse sample of over 30,000 New Zealanders.
